It solved the razor view syntax highlighting issue that I was seeing on my system. My Visual Studio 2013 crashed and restarted every time I tried to add a class in a HTML tag. Strangely, I did not find the "correct" aka permanent solution to this problem. This solution fixed.
Have checked it in another project so I don't think it's a prject specific problem. I suspect this may clear that up too. Note that for this fix to work, you have to abandon Visual Studio 2010 or 11 PERMANENTLY. Weird... –woofbluddywoof Mar 27 '11 at 20:40 this option does not exists for C/C++ on VS10 –Rana Mar 3 at 17:35 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote Although not immediately apparent, major features of Visual studio have been left disabled, and the result is an instance of Visual Studio that is utterly unusable for development. Nothing. It works!
Previously I tried deleting my suo file, updating options, I even completely re-installed a fresh code base and database, nothing was working. Visual Studio Not Showing Errors In Error List I upgraded from 2010 to 2012, and am having inconsistent problems with Intellisense not working on some classes and namespaces. ES2015 and JSX doesn't work there really well: I don't know where to search for info. If you double click on a syntax error message, the text editor will automatically scroll to the offending statement and outline it in a blue rectangle. https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/46036261-f09d-4742-acda-17de735422d0/error-highlighting-not-working?forum=visualstudiogeneral asked 7 years ago viewed 18040 times active 1 year ago Blog Stack Overflow Podcast #93 - A Very Spolsky Halloween Special Linked 0 Visual Studio 2008 not detecting Errors while Visual Studio 2015 Not Showing Errors Reply ↓ Sang November 28, 2013 at 2:54 am thanks a lot. Is the Set designed properly? http://nbxcorp.com/visual-studio/visual-studio-error-1010.html If yes, I suggest you can try to make sure the ‘Disable Squiggles’ is set to ‘False’ in Tools->Options->Text Editor->C/C++->Advanced. close and restart VS. Under the advanced tab there are options relating to disabling IntelliSense features and these are all set to false. Visual Studio 2010 Not Showing Errors

if your project is under some source control (mine was under ClearCase), this solution might work for you. Great post, thanks! why would this be turned off by default!! –Sonic Soul Jan 10 '14 at 19:01 7 this was really helpful after I uninstalled Resharper. –Alejandro Bastidas Oct 1 '14 at Reply ↓ Claudia September 3, 2014 at 8:30 am Thank you so much! It's frustrating. I installed Visual Studio 2013 Preview and opened the previously created project, and I now have no syntax highlighting or debugging in razor.
So I can only assume, that without ReSharper, I have no intellisense, syntax highlighting or debugging for razor. Any ideas how I can restore the highlighting in Visual Studio? share|improve this answer answered May 6 '09 at 7:54 Gerrie Schenck 15.6k145591 Thanks for the excellent answers (screenshot is much appreciated), but this doesn't fix the problem. Anyway.
If you're brave, you might experiment with the export file left by the Resharper installer.
