The developers themselves must not have used Visual Studio or this window or else they would have known right away how stupid this idea is. I might have mistakenly unchecked that option and was facing the problem not to see the error window when there were some errors in the code.
I ask because I'm having the same issue, I think; the Output window shows the CodeContracts output (and includes a warning that I was expecting it to in my simple example) Clicking a column header in the Error List panel switches sorting between ascending / descending / none.
